Every clock I own requires
wi-fi, cords, or charging wires.
Time, for me, would just stand still
upon a missed electric bill.
I wish my knowledge of the hour
did not hinge on purchased power.
But, like clockwork, I’ll keep paying
just to keep my time displaying.
